By integrating techniques from different sectors, new applications and technologies are created which lead to innovations; or as we call them: Next Generation Products. An interesting example is the use of Near Infrared (NIR) technology in plastic products.

By understanding the behavior of Near Infrared in combination with the latest CCD sensors and plastic additives, completely new applications and markets can be explored that were previously unthinkable. These include high precision recycling, increased quality control of non-visible parts with machine vision and the 3D scanning of internal non-visible components. Even more surprising is that the possibilities of NIR can now also be made visible with normal consumer electronics.
