TRICAS at COMPAMED & MEDICA
For TRICAS, keeping aligned with technologies that drive miniaturization, integration, and multidisciplinary product development remains essential. Our visit to COMPAMED & MEDICA clearly showed how rapidly these fields are evolving and how directly they relate to the R&D challenges we solve for our clients.
At COMPAMED, we saw again how electronic components such as sensors, heaters, and camera modules continue to shrink while becoming more tightly integrated into compact products. The integration of miniature electronics, precision mechanics combined with intelligent software offers new design possibilities, perfectly suitable for the multidisciplinary products we develop.
Material and prototyping innovations – with materials like sapphire, smart polymers and ceramics — and manufacturing techniques such as MIM (Metal Injection Molding) support this trend, making complex microscale solutions feasible for smaller production series and also suitable outside the medical domain.
MEDICA showed a similar movement, but at system level. Digital health technologies, supportive robotics and AI are increasingly merging into integrated ecosystems where hardware, data, and algorithms are closely integrated with each other. The continued evolution of wearables underlines this: compact technologies capable of continuous measuring and analysis at home or on-the-go, offering more comfort and less stress for the user. This requires a multidisciplinary approach right from the initial design phase, exactly as how TRICAS approaches innovation.
What we take home; valuable new contacts and fresh inspiration to realize new, compact, and highly integrated products.
